Is casino legit: the procedure, field by field, with a worked check
Whether a casino is legit is a five-field check on the Gambling Commission’s public register, not a verdict. Three real entries followed through on 21 September 2026: a domain resolved as White Label, a brand resolved through Trading names, and a company whose licences show Surrendered.

Whether a casino is legit is not a verdict this dossier gives; it is a check with five register fields, each of which passes or fails on a stated date. Open the Gambling Commission’s public register, search the account number or domain from the site’s footer, and compare Account name, Account number, Licence Status, Activities and Domain names.
Three real register entries are followed through below, checked 21 September 2026, including one whose licences show as Surrendered.
The register is the only source used on this page. It is the Commission’s own record of who holds a licence, for what, and for which domains. A footer badge, a company number or a foreign seal is a separate check, and the dossier stamps each step Checked, Not found or Not read rather than passing an opinion.
Great Britain is the territory of this register. Northern Ireland has a different regime and the register does not cover it. What a licence from another jurisdiction means is Night Atlas’s subject; your own identity checks are Payout Ledger’s.
This dossier checks the operator, nothing else.

How can I check a casino licence?
Step 1 — Account number: find it in the footer, then search it. Open the public register’s business search. Enter the account number exactly as the footer prints it, or the domain if no number is shown.
You should see one result with the licensee’s Account name and Account number.
Evidence: a search for “wizardslots.com” on 21 September 2026 returned one result, Jumpman Gaming Limited, Account number 39175. Checked 21 September 2026. A search for a name the register does not hold, “zzzznotacasino”, returned the line ‘No results for “zzzznotacasino”’.
That line is what a failed Step 1 looks like. Not found.
Notes: this edition did not open the wizardslots.com site itself, so what its footer states is Not read. The check that follows starts from the domain, which is the field a footer cannot fake on the register’s side.
How do you know if a gambling site is legit?
Step 2 — Account name: what the footer shows and what the register shows. The register’s Account name is the licensee, which is often not the brand on the site. Compare the two.
A mismatch is not a failure by itself; it is the trigger for Step 4, Trading names.
Evidence: account 39175 shows Account name Jumpman Gaming Limited, Head office address ‘La Corvee House, La Corvee, Alderney, GY9 3TQ, United Kingdom’, and Trading names: 0 entries. Checked 21 September 2026. The brand “Wizard Slots” does not appear as a trading name; it appears only as a domain, which is why Step 5 resolves it.
Notes: a brand that resolves through Domain names rather than Trading names is, on this register, marked “White Label” in the Status column. The register shows the arrangement; it does not explain it, and this dossier does not either.
How can I verify the licence status of an online casino?
Step 3 — Licence Status: active, surrendered, revoked, lapsed. Read the status beside each activity, not the page heading. A licensee can be on the register with every activity Surrendered; the entry does not disappear.
Evidence: account 39175 shows Bingo (Remote) “Active” and Casino (Remote) “Active”, Start Date 1 November 2014. Checked 21 September 2026. Account 38718, Bonne Terre Limited, Leeds, shows Casino (Remote), Gambling Software (Remote), General Betting Standard (Real Event and Virtual Event) and Pool Betting, every one “Surrendered”.
Checked 21 September 2026.
Notes: a footer that cites 38718 today would pass Step 1 and fail Step 3. The same trading names appear under a different account, which is the case Step 4 works through. Surrendered is a status, not a scandal; what it means for a dispute in progress is the subject of our separate note on surrendered licences.
Register labels used in this dossier
- Active
- The status the register shows beside an activity the licensee currently holds; read it beside each activity, not the page heading.
- Surrendered
- The licensee has given the licence up. The entry stays on the register with this status beside each activity; it does not disappear.
- Revoked
- The licence has been withdrawn rather than given up; on this page it is a failed Step 3, like Surrendered and Lapsed.
- Lapsed
- The licence is no longer in force without being surrendered or revoked; also a failed Step 3.
- White Label
- The Status shown beside a domain that resolves through Domain names rather than Trading names; the register shows the arrangement without explaining it.
- Trading name
- A brand the licensee operates under, listed on the account’s Trading names sub-page with its own Status.
- Account number
- The register’s number for the licensee, usually printed in a site’s footer; the search starts from it, or from the domain.
How do I confirm if an online casino holds a valid gambling commission licence?
Step 4 — Trading names: the brand under the company. Open the Trading names sub-page of the account you found. Compare the brand on the site with the names listed and their Status.
Evidence: account 65519, Bonne Terre Gaming Limited, Head office address ‘4th Floor, 55 Line Wall, Gibraltar, GX11 1AA, Gibraltar’, shows Bingo (Remote) and Casino (Remote) both “Active” since 18 November 2024. Its Trading names page lists “sky bet games”, “sky bingo”, “sky casino”, “sky poker” and “sky vegas”, all Active. Checked 21 September 2026.
Notes: the brand “sky vegas” therefore resolves to account 65519, not to the surrendered 38718, and the two accounts carry different company names and addresses. Changed since last check: an older reference to 38718 for this brand would now be out of date.
The Commission is the issuing body for every entry on this register; there is no other GB licensing body for remote casinos.

- sky bet games
- sky bingo
- sky casino
- sky poker
- sky vegas
How to confirm if an online casino licence is valid and current?
Step 5 — Domain names: is this site actually listed. Open the Domain names sub-page and search for the exact domain in your address bar. A licence that is Active for a company whose domain list does not include the site you are on has not been shown to cover that site.
Evidence: account 39175’s Domain names page lists 234 entries under columns Name and Status; “www.wizardslots.com” is present with Status “White Label”. Checked 21 September 2026. Account 65519 shows Domain names: 6; account 38718 shows Domain names: 8.
The individual entries for those two were not opened in this edition. Not read.
Step 6 — Regulatory actions: the sixth field in the ‘is casino legit’ check
Notes: Regulatory actions is the sixth field and it is worth the click. Account 39175 showed 0 entries on 21 September 2026; so did 65519 and 38718. A non-zero count is not a failure either; it is a record to read before staking.
The table: annotated capture of a real register result, every field labelled, plus a worked example of a footer claim checked against it end to end
No screenshot is reproduced; the register’s fields are transcribed with their exact labels and the date. The three accounts are real entries, chosen because together they show a pass through Domain names, a pass through Trading names, and a Surrendered status under a company name that a reader could still find on an old page.
| Account name | Account number | Casino (Remote) Licence Status | Start Date | Head office address | Trading names | Domain names | Regulatory actions | Evidence |

Five-field licence check (printable)
Stamp each line Checked with the date, Not found, or Changed since last check. Never “Verified”.
- Any step Not found: do not deposit; if money is already on the site, use the complaints route below.
Ticks are kept only in this browser and are never sent anywhere.
A worked example in pounds
A £20 deposit sits behind every one of these steps, and the steps cost nothing. Take the £20 to a site whose domain is on an Active licensee’s Domain names page. The operator is bound by the Commission’s licence conditions, and a dispute over the £20 has a published route through the operator’s complaints process and its dispute body.
Take the same £20 to a site whose search returns ‘No results’, or whose only match shows Surrendered beside Casino (Remote): there is no GB licence behind the £20, and no Commission-backed route for it. The £20 is the same; the record behind it is not.
The check takes a few minutes and three register pages. On 21 September 2026 it took four fetches to follow wizardslots.com to Jumpman Gaming Limited and its White Label domain entry, and two to separate the Active Bonne Terre Gaming Limited from the Surrendered Bonne Terre Limited.
The worked check — wizardslots.com through the register, end to end
The five fields as followed on 21 September 2026: four fetches for the domain, two to separate the Bonne Terre accounts. Each step is stamped Checked with the date; the stamp is a record, not a verdict.
Search the domain
A search for wizardslots.com on 21 September 2026 returned one result: Jumpman Gaming Limited, Account number 39175.
Read Licence Status
Account 39175 shows Casino (Remote) Active, Start Date 1 November 2014. Regulatory actions: 0 entries.
Read Trading names
Trading names: 0 entries. The brand Wizard Slots is not there, so the check moves to Domain names.
Read Domain names
The Domain names page lists 234 entries under Name and Status; www.wizardslots.com is present with Status White Label.
Separate the two Bonne Terre accounts
Bonne Terre Gaming Limited (65519) shows Casino (Remote) Active since 18 November 2024, with sky vegas among its Trading names. Bonne Terre Limited (38718) shows every remote activity Surrendered.
What the result means
The domain resolves to an Active licensee through a White Label entry. A footer citing 38718 today would pass Step 1 and fail Step 3. The £20 is the same either way; the record behind it is not.
When a check fails: what to do
A failed Step 1 (No results) or Step 3 (Surrendered, Revoked or Lapsed beside the activity) means the register does not show a current GB licence for the claim as made. Do not treat a footer badge as a substitute; the badge is the claim, the register is the record.
Record the date of your search, because entries change: Bonne Terre Limited’s remote licences were once Active and now show Surrendered.
A failed Step 5, where the licensee is Active but your domain is absent from its Domain names list, means the register has not been shown to cover that site. Search the domain itself as a second attempt; if that also returns nothing, the outcome is Not found.
If money is already on a site that fails a check, the route is the operator’s complaints process and then its dispute body, and the Commission publishes what it can and cannot do. If the situation is affecting you beyond the money, GamCare is on 0808 8020 133.
When a check fails — what each failure means
The badge is the claim; the register is the record. If the situation is affecting you beyond the money, GamCare is on 0808 8020 133.
- Money already on a site that fails a check: the operator’s complaints process, then its dispute body. The Commission publishes what it can and cannot do.

What this page does not tell you
It does not say any site is safe or legit; it records what six register fields showed on 21 September 2026. It does not say what a licence from Gibraltar, Alderney or anywhere else means for a reader, which is Night Atlas’s territory, even though two of the three head office addresses above are outside Great Britain.
It does not cover your own identity checks with an operator; that is Payout Ledger’s.
It did not open wizardslots.com, so the site’s footer wording is Not read. It did not open the Domain names or Trading names sub-pages for 38718, nor the Domain names page for 65519. Every field it did read is stamped with the date.
Choosing not to deposit anywhere is a valid outcome of every step.
Questions answered
Six questions in the wording readers use, each answered in one sentence first and then from the register.
